Services at Butler Meadows

We are located 15 miles east of Ukiah California in the heart of the California Redwoods. Our 80 acre ranch has open meadows and trail riding. Come and get lost in the Redwoods. If your horse doesn't know the way back to the barn, ours do.

Boarding facilities: Our newly constructed barn has 12 x 24 foot sanded stalls. There are two 100' by 25 ' rocked and sanded turnouts attached to the barn. We also have several individual paddocks, ranging from 5,000 - 10,000 square feet. Shelters are currently being constructed for these paddocks. We have a 40 foot round corral and a 70 x 150 foot riding arena.

Boarding is available for $12 per day, or $300 per month. Boarding includes twice daily feeding, daily stall cleaning and daily grooming. We feed high quality hay and grain compounds. Any other supplements or special products need to be supplied by the horse owner. Contact us us for a copy of our boarding contract.

Training: We offer basic ground training for weanlings through unstarted 3 year olds. We take in a limited number of unstarted 2 and 3 year olds for breaking and the first 90 days under saddle. We also offer special training on an individual basis depending on the needs of the horse owner and our availability.

Our training methods are based on conditioned response and positive reinforcement techniques. We regularly attend and participate in clinics and seminars to improve our training abilities. Our focus on training is to provide horses with a basic foundation in the first 90 days to allow the horse to proceed to more specialized training areas.
